About Me

My Photo
Hello and welcome. My name is Julie,I am a mum and Grandmother with 2 children who are now old enough to care for themselves. Which leaves me more time to knit and sew. I have a lovely rescue dog called Bonnie. I do suffer from crohn's disease which keeps me at home some of the time. But I have plenty of love & support from my partner an family. Knitting is what I love most,I design little knitted pincushions & a few knitted toys too. I do cross stitch, embroider, I am also learning too patchwork. Really I am an all round crafty person.

A LITTLE CROCHET, and more felt sewing too..

Hi all,
We had a peaceful weekend for once and as I was full of a cold with plenty of sneezing I did not feel like doing much apart from a little crocheting and sewing, a good remedy don't you think.
So what did I make, well I have been practising my crochet and to help I purchased this book.
beaded crochet which was really good value at £1.99 from my local shop.
So for my first project I picked to make were these broaches,

they were so easy to make and fun, as you can see i added lots of beads in different colours.

Remember in a previous post I purchased a book for felt making accessories,
well I started making the felt broach on the cover with little sewing aides. I thought this would look good as a cover on the front of a needle case in stead, just for me.
As you can see I still need to sew the small pieces together, then its all ready as a handy needle case. If you want to check out more of this lady's work and buy the book pop over here, Bugs and Fishes blog

An apart from this I have not been making much for my website, at the moment I don't seem to have the energy for it I don't know whats wrong really. It could be due to my iron levels being low due to having crohn's(i am waiting for treatment). Or my partner thinks I am just all knitted out, those were his words. So before I do anything hasty like delete my work or web, I thought I would try new things hence above in the pictures. I do like crocheting it seems so I am going to carry on with this idea, and improve on my skills.

Catch up with you all soon. bye for now.  Julie x

Hope you are feeling better soon Julie. Those little broaches are very nice and just the perfect sized project to complete and feel good about it.

I have a really hard time with the word verification, so if you don't see comments from me as often that is why. But know that I visit often.

Julie, those brooches are really very nice. I have done some crochet in the past but it's been a very long time since I last used a crochet hook.
I hope you will show us more of your work soon.
Take care my friend! I hope you'll soon be feeling better.
Sue.

Julie we all have moments where we are all crafted out. Although having a problem with low iron won't help either. Hope you are not waiting too long for your treatment. Big sis xxxx

Hope you are feeling much better now. We all have those moments when we just don't feel like doing a thing. I've been like that the past couple of days. Life gets so busy at times. We've had dusty weather since Tuesday. Bleh! Your projects are always lovely. Have a great weekend. Tammy
